Buyer FAQ

For buyers2 min readUpdated July 12, 2026

Do I need an AOS account to participate in an auction?

Yes.

You must create an AOS account before registering for any auction.

Depending on the Organizer’s requirements, you may also need to complete identity verification and accept the applicable Auction Terms before bidding is enabled.

Can I participate in auctions from another country?

Yes.

AOS has been designed as an international platform.

Buyers from around the world can participate, subject to the requirements established by each Organizer and any applicable legal or regulatory restrictions.

Can I inspect a horse before bidding?

This depends on the Organizer.

Many Organizers offer appointments, inspections or veterinary consultations before the auction closes.

If you require additional information, contact the Organizer directly before placing your bid.

Can I withdraw a bid once it has been placed?

In general, no.

A bid submitted through AOS constitutes a legally binding offer under the applicable Auction Terms.

Before confirming any bid, ensure that you fully intend to purchase the horse if your bid becomes the winning bid.

How do I know if I have won?

Once the auction has closed, you will receive a confirmation if you are the successful buyer.

You will also be able to review the final auction results within your account.

What happens if the Reserve Price is not met?

If a Lot is offered with a confidential Reserve Price and that price is not reached, the Organizer may decide not to complete the sale, in accordance with the Auction Terms.

The specific outcome depends on the conditions established for that auction.

Can I save horses that interest me?

Yes.

You can save horses to your favourites and return to them later while preparing your bidding strategy.

This makes it easier to compare different Lots before the auction closes.

How can I contact the Organizer?

Every Auction Page includes the Organizer’s contact information.

If you have questions regarding a horse, payment, transport or any other aspect of the auction, you should contact the Organizer directly.

Does AOS guarantee the information published?

No.

The information published for each Lot is provided by the Organizer.

While AOS provides the technological infrastructure and encourages transparency, buyers remain responsible for carrying out their own due diligence before bidding.

Is my personal information secure?

Yes.

AOS uses industry-standard security practices to protect your personal information and payment-related data.

Your information is processed in accordance with the AOS Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

Where can I find help?

If you need assistance using the Platform, visit the AOS Help Center or contact our support team through the official support channels available within AOS.

For questions relating to a specific horse or auction, you should contact the Organizer directly.
