Overview
Every auction on AOS follows a clear and transparent structure.
Understanding how an auction works before bidding begins will help you participate with confidence and make informed purchasing decisions.
Organizer Website
Every auction belongs to an Organizer.
Each Organizer has their own dedicated Organizer Website, where you can:
- learn about the Organizer;
- browse current auctions;
- explore previous auctions;
- view upcoming events;
- contact the Organizer directly.
This allows you to build long-term relationships with organizers whose horses interest you.
Auction Page
Each auction has its own dedicated Auction Page.
Here you will find all the information you need before bidding, including:
- auction description;
- opening and closing dates;
- auction format;
- collection of Lots;
- Auction Terms;
- organizer information;
- contact details.
We recommend reviewing this information before registering.
Auction Status
Throughout its lifecycle, an auction may display different statuses, including:
- Upcoming
- Live
- Ended
- Cancelled
These statuses help you understand whether bidding is available or whether the auction has already concluded.
The Collection
Every auction contains a collection of individual Lots.
Each Lot represents a horse offered for sale.
You can browse the collection, compare horses and open individual Horse Profiles before deciding whether to bid.
Horse Profiles
Each horse has its own dedicated profile containing all available information provided by the Organizer.
Depending on the auction, this may include:
- photographs;
- videos;
- pedigree;
- competition history;
- breeding information;
- veterinary documentation;
- external references;
- detailed descriptions.
The quality and completeness of each profile are determined by the Organizer.
Reserve Price
Some Lots are offered with a confidential Reserve Price.
This is the minimum price at which the Organizer is willing to sell the horse.
The exact Reserve Price is never displayed.
During the auction, the Platform may indicate whether the Reserve Price has been met without revealing its value.
Auction Terms
Every auction is governed by its own Auction Terms.
These terms explain the commercial conditions applicable to that specific auction, including matters such as:
- payment deadlines;
- accepted payment methods;
- Buyer’s Premium;
- governing law;
- collection arrangements.
Always review the Auction Terms before placing your first bid.
Auction Timeline
Each auction follows a defined timeline.
Typically, this includes:
- registration period;
- auction opening;
- live bidding;
- automatic extensions (where applicable);
- auction closing;
- payment;
- collection or delivery.
Understanding these stages helps you prepare your participation.
Before You Bid
Before placing a bid, make sure you have:
- reviewed the Horse Profile;
- read the Auction Terms;
- completed any required verification;
